FDANZ

People you can depend on to go the extra mile

Fountain's Funeral Directors & Advisors is a member of the Funeral Directors' Association of New Zealand (FDANZ).

Since it was founded in 1937, the FDANZ has promoted quality, expertise and integrity in the funeral profession, and encouraged the training and education of funeral directors. Today, the FDANZ represents approximately 85 per cent of funeral practices in New Zealand.

As members of the FDANZ, Fountain's Funeral Directors follows the Rules of the Association as well as a strict Code of Ethics and Code of Conduct. In keeping with its commitment to high standards of professionalism and ethics, the Association recently introduced an independent disputes resolution process, and in March 2001 established Griefcare® – the world's first quality assurance programme designed specifically for funeral practices.

FDANZ also maintains the Register of Funeral Directors, containing the names of those considered by the Association to meet the criteria necessary for recognition as a funeral director. These criteria include having successfully attained a qualification in funeral directing.

Registered funeral directors are also required to hold Practising Certificates, which are renewable every three years on provision of evidence of ongoing training.
